Ships at Bay
11:02
|
|||
Blessings echo in the halls of stone
For warriors in a distant vale
Mellow chimes of falling water
Raindrops shimmer through a torches flame
And when a knight turns to welcome the storm
The maiden cries for a brother slain
She turns her eyes from the sunlight above
Petitions for a better day
The sunlight warms her brow
In memories embrace
The fatal edge of a Templar’s sword
And the swaying ships at bay
The spires of Venice greet the dawn
As they depart on a tide of Prayer
And when a knight turns to welcome the storm
The maiden cries for a brother slain
Tears that fall from her eyes
Draw a thousand drops of rain
The rain softly falls
Upon a vanquished plain

Mysteria
06:55
|
|||
Through the dark, they ride to the light
Desert spirits chill the night
Voices carried on the breeze
Their promises of martyrdoms dream
And the light falls on the shore
Into a hidden chamber of stone
Eyes observe, through the veil of dawn
Their march to mysteria
And the light falls on the shore
Into a hidden chamber of stone
Eyes observe, through the veil of dawn
A journey to mysteria
The journeymen with weathered frowns
Tempered to these sights and sounds
Elixir of life, to be found
Beyond an ancient fragrant shroud
A fatal touch to soothe a brow
An essence drawn from their herbal crown
Gold for comfort, in hills of mist
Cotton shrouds and woven bliss
And the light falls on the shore
Into a hidden chamber of stone
Eyes observe, beneath the sails of dawn
A voyage to mysteria

Blood and Sand
12:09
|
|||
The pale light of dawn,
St Symeon’s harbour walls.
Assembled for the call,
to Jerusalem’s sacred throne.
A knight kneels to greet,
the ground beneath his feet.
The sight of blood and sand,
trickles through the gauntlet hand.
A knight kneels to greet,
the ground beneath his feet.
The sight of blood and sand,
trickles through the gauntlet hand.
Hailed from a different world,
and the cloisters of the mind.
And within that different world,
where utopian visions hide.
A songbird sings in the morning light.
Glimpses of heaven, shine in shimmering white.
Poor knights of the temple called,
to defend the pilgrim’s road.
Withhold from the sword,
no condemnations drawn.
A knight prepares to retreat,
from the land beneath his feet.
While the sight of blood and sand,
trickles through his gauntlet hand.
Torn from the sword of God.
the promised land denied,
The faithful hear a call,
to a new welcome fire
The knights of Malta comfort,
those fallen in the night,
Beyond hardships road toward,
a city of light.
Wall of faith hardened, in ancient scrolls.
A distant army’s reflection, miraged in the sun.
Dark clouds gather, across the land.
Prayers fallen now, in the valley of blood and sand.

Silence of the Knight
03:47
|
|||
Fallen night, broken reign
A Saracen’s sword ablaze
In a falling light
Battlegrounds of rage
The call of victory
Soaks into the sand
A final thrust
Turn the triumph to grace
No Mercy in the falling light
No quarter given, in the depths of pain
The darkness comes
A welcome shadow descends
It heralds a cry
Above the silence of the Knight
Sun rays of dusk
Dance across his cold face
Armour removed
A distant horseman awaits
Points of defeat
With an enemy slain
A prayer to the wind
Drawn on his last breath
No Mercy in the falling light
No quarter given, in the depths of pain
The darkness comes
A welcome shadow descends
It heralds a cry
Above the silence of the Knight

Shadowland
08:54
|
|||
At the end of a velvet night
Bleeding palms in cold daylight
Castle of dawn, upon the ridge
Shelter her burning faithful tears
Beacons of fire, on a distant ridge
Signal the fall of Jerusalem’s dream
Weathered faces and furrowed brows
march in the wake of a hinterland
At the end of a velvet night
Bleeding palms in the cold daylight
Castle of dawn, upon the ridge
Shelter her burning faithful tears
And the cries carried on the breeze
Echo to the clash of steel
Lightning strikes their flags of pride
As thunder roars across the sky
A crumbling gable a cross to bear.
Within the chamber of fetid air
A glimpse of darkness, forgotten prayers
Blooded coins within this lair
The axe falls, a lock is thrown
revealing the inner chamber of stone
The spectre turns to beckon them in
to the shadowlands of their hidden schemes

Sword of God
23:28
|
|||
He rises to the cold dawn chorus
Wisps of light dance through the trees
Horses stir waiting for their armour
The sword of God rests on his knee
Soldiers kneel prayers to be offered
Petitions made on a frozen friend
Bounties promised beyond distant shorelines
With cross held high they’ll ride to the east
He rests his head upon the pillow
With rosewater she soothes and heals
Wounds of the mind and body
In the shade of a date palm tree
He sees a mirage on the horizon
The promised land of his dreams
Echoed voices of the fallen
Faint whispers drift on the breeze
