Across the River Styx
07:30
|
|
||
They see dark waters in motion.
A distant shore in the mist.
The hooded horseman approaches.
Besides the river Styx.
Maidens veiled in emotions.
Brothers shrouded in grief.
The sibyl’s prophecies broken.
Float into the sea.
Distant fires, beacons of the night.
Souls of the dead guided by the light.
His eyes glow like a furnace.
The ferryman in his skiff.
Ruling his desolate riverbank.
He can’t be paid in sin.
Time to pay the ferryman.
Time to pay the ferryman.
She sings in the night.
To the changing tides.
A sword held to the sky.
Killing freedoms cry.

Taking it Away
04:48
|
|
||
They make the moves
They live in darkness
They seize the light
And they’re taking it away
A noble cause
Disinformation
They’ll leave you cold
With a smile and a prayer
Leaving all they have known
The daylight falls
Into night
They have the cure
Their planted fears
Their prophet speaks
To the faithful below
They have the word
Insurrection
A bitter promise
They are eager to show
Moving sands
On the fields
Where they play
Many fall
In a ceaseless quest

Leaving L.A.
08:10
|
|

Sensing the changes
End credits looming
The yellow cars
have all gone away
Hard to explain the emotions they’re seeing tonight
A trembling finger
Presses down on red
Paths to redemption
In the stroke of a pen
Peaceful fires warm the darkness of the sky
Turning their eyes, as the cameras roll
Their world begins to fade
Below a crumbling hillside sign
Their word thrown to the curb on sunset and vine
Casting aside
The creative pen
Their only thought
A sequel, to defend
Don’t give them what they want
Let’s give them what we need
A private bird approaches
Through the haze
A royal footprint
In the clear morning air
Wearing their smile they say, don’t worry
Just do as we heed
Turning their eyes, as the cameras roll
Their world begins to fade
Below a crumbling hillside sign
Their word thrown to the curb on sunset and vine
Sensing her chance
The skills she’s ready to stage
From palatial mansions
Where she’ll now, forever stay
Character actor
Troubled thoughts to convey
Wild eyes narrow
Final act of this play
Hard to explain the darkness he’s feeling inside
Eyes watching the cold light of the night
But now he thinks it’s time, to leave L.A.

A Valued Friend
05:58
|
|
||
Move a little closer now
I’ll tell you how it is
The man they called John Doe
Was a very good friend of his
He laid his claim in lonely, darkened streets
The new owner of the illusionary scheme
Soft words of wisdom
Falling like rain on sand
Filter through
To a hidden sun filled land
Falling down
They sanctify this holy ground
And the masses run from the falling rain
Then gathered to greet, that valued friend, from a forgotten land.
Eleventh hour redemptions
are at hand
Falling like confetti across
This dark and grateful land
Move a little closer now
The moon is on the rise
Didn’t you know, the nameless one
Keeps the fallen nations, in his sights
And the elevator takes them up
Towards the hidden heights
And the masses run from the falling rain
As they gathered to greet, that valued friend, from a forgotten place.
Move a little closer now
The tide is on the rise
These chants of comfort
From the owners of the night

Orbit
07:05
|
|
||
High above, the world of solace
Souls resolved to perpetual orbit
Held up, to the light
The mask, to fade and die
A love to eclipse, hatreds fervour
Hands now joined, in a sacred circle
Held up, to the light
Their sin washed from their sight
Soulful eyes
Glance out to space
A momentary lapse
A fall from grace
High above, the world of solace
Souls resolved to perpetual orbit
Held up, to the light
A mask, to fade and die
Time for all, to say goodnight
Children of the sky, with tearful eyes
Soulful eyes
Glance out to space
The momentary lapse
A fall from grace
Prodigies born
Free from viral ties
Look down to the earth
Children of the sky

Lady of the Lake
07:05
|
|
||
She held a candle in the night
In gothic halls of stone
Her face appeared in swirling mists
From another world
A glimpse of light. from beyond the darkened wood
She held a candle to the dark
Guiding souls to the light
Elusive signs, in the vale of light
She held their doubts and cautions at bay
While the hopeful
Took the path toward the distant gate
Her face appeared in a pool of clouds
The lady of the lake
Her words of comfort filled a void
Of their troubled ways
A cathedral looms into their sight
Overpowering their plight
As they take, tentative steps toward
That other world
A glimpse of light, to guide them through the night
She held a candle in the dark
Taking payment for their crimes
Elusive signs, in the vale of light
She held the darkness in her grasp
Closing the doors
Behind the elusive chosen path
Closing the doors
Behind the elusive chosen path
